After being spotted canoodling for months, Katy Perry and John Mayer have officially gone public with their relationship. Breaking news, I know. According to an Us Weekly source, after walking the red carpet of the Broadway adaptation of A Christmas Story with Mayer, Perry introduced him to the cast by saying, "This is my boyfriend John."Don't worry, dear readers, I'm as confused about why this is news as you are. For what seems like forever now, the pop sensation and the guitar-strumming crooner have been spotted together all over, going on romantic dates, even doing the time-honored walk of shame that clearly denotes couple status. But I guess until this moment we were just meant to assume they've been really great, really, really close friends this entire time?
Perry and Mayer first began dating early this June, before briefly ending things in August. They were then seen locking lips in September, and since then they've been spotted everywhere together, including The Rolling Stones concert at the Prudential Center on Thursday night in Newark, New Jersey. But it was her use of the "b" word on Wednesday that officially ended all the "speculation" regarding whether they are a couple… although I really can't think of anyone who will be surprised by this development.
