Instagram's decision to sell user's images to advertisers without compensation is causing quite an uproar in Hollywood, with many threatening to drop the popular app when its new Terms of Services launches Jan. 16. Read on for more details.

Anderson Cooper, PinkKim Kardashian, and Kim's little sis, Khloe Kardashian, are just some of the celebs who are outraged with Instagram's decision to use posted photos in advertisements without compensating the user. In fact, many have vowed to simply nix the app. What were the people behind Instagram thinking?

Instagram is now scrambling to clean up the mess caused by their recent policy changes! According to a new report from TMZ, the company's co-founder, Kevin Systrom, has just released the following statement, basically saying that they have absolutely no plans, at all, of selling user's photos.

"It is our mistake that this language is confusing. To be clear: it is not our intention to sell your photos…[The new terms of service] was interpreted by many that we were going to sell your photos to others without any compensation. This is not true."

He adds, "Instagram users own their content and Instagram does not claim any ownership rights over your photos. Nothing about this has changed. We respect that there are creative artists and hobbyists alike that pour their heart into creating beautiful photos, and we respect that your photos are your photos. Period."

"I always want you to feel comfortable sharing your photos on Instagram and we will always work hard to foster and respect our community and go out of our way to support its rights."

Celebs Leave Instagram Over Site's Changes To Terms Of Services

Before this new statement was released, dozens of celebs tweeted about their disapproval. Kim  tweeted, "I really loved Instagram :-( I need to review this new policy. I don't think its fair." Anderson took to his Twitter writing, "Instagram will now be able to use anyone's photos in ads? Without consent? Come on! Is there another photo app people recommend?" and singer Pink tweeted, "I WILL BE QUITTING INSTAGRAM TODAY. WHAT A BUMMER. YOU SHOULD ALL READ THEIR NEW RULES."

Do you think everyone should give Instagram another chance, considering its co-founder's recent statement on the company's new policy changes? What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are you going to dump the app?
