Info Post

From slashfilm, Because I’d hate for you to miss something as great as a Saw sequel just because of a title change, I present this news report. (If there was a blinking sarcasm HMTL tag to apply to that first sentence, I’d use it.)

We’d presumed a couple of different titles for the seventh film in the Saw series and the first one to be filmed in 3D. You know, something simple like Saw VII or Saw 3D. But the title is now — and this is confirmed with LionsGate by STYD — Saw 3D: The Traps Come Alive.

All I can say is, if the traps do not in fact come alive, like the little toys in Xtro, I’m going to be wildly disappointed.

The film stars Tobin Bell, Cary Elwes, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell and Sean Patrick Flannery, and was directed by Kevin Greutert from Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton’s script. It tells how “a deadly battle rages over Jigsaw’s brutal legacy and a group of Jigsaw survivors gathers to seek the support of self-help guru and fellow survivor Bobby Dagen, a man whose own dark secrets unleash a new wave of terror.”
